Default GW Lottery

Reading about the givaway below reminded me of a pet idea of mine, who would be up for a weekly guild wars lottery?

my idea so far is:

Three Teirs, 500g a ticket, 1P a ticket, 5P a ticket

if we have 50 people for the 5P teir, that is 250P for prizes (175 for first, 50 for second, 25 for third place prehaps) A 3 in 50 chance of at least 5Xing your bet

All would be put in a list, sorted by name+ a number, somebody then choses a random number (who hasnt seen the sheet)

this is all not important now though, as my main problem is, how on earth can i do this and guarantee im not scamming you, i could have my brother/freind/guildie win

so what i am looking for, is a well know and respected member of the community to help pick the winner, somebody trustworthy enough to not scam everyone, and known enough to be known as trustoworty

prehaps i could send a list of everyone whos payed a ticket, and then this person (whos assigned then all a random number from 1-50-assuming theres 50) tells me who's won

Suggestions?

Anet is doing everything to prevent that one player owns lots of money.
So, it's not a bad idea but I don't think so...

A moderator could hold the money if you find one that is interested. Good idea.

Frankly, I just don't see how anyone reputable would get mixed up in something that's likely to bring outcries of scamming as a "lottery". Even keeping the list of who's put money in gets a bit dicey because there isn't an actual "ticket". The internet is was too anonymous to pull off something like this and have any kind of assurance that it's on the up and up.

Course, there's lots of players with too much coin and nothing to do with it. What's a few plat when you have 100's. Like they say, "There's a sucker born evey minute." - LOL

Thats what the forums for, if they post in a thread here (weekly applications thread or whatever) then there is no way of fiddling it

as for a moderator, that sounds like a good idea
